Massive non-scale victory

Ok my skin infection is getting much better, I took the last of the anti-biotics this morning and I'm feeling much more myself thank goodness and didn't even have a huge binge to try and cheer myself up, but that's not my non-scale victory. Yesterday my friend took me out to Rockridge and Berkley, she mentioned there would be a fair bit of walking which I was fine with, we wandered around shops we stopped to look in windows, so not exactly attacking the walk with a cracking pace more a leisurely stroll. We kept walking and walking, had some lunch, wandered through a wholefoods (wow), checked out her old apartment block and gradually my knees started hurting and by the end my ankles were really sore and I knew we'd walked more than 5kms, probably the most I've actually measured walking. When we got home my friend jumpd onto google maps and plotted our walk, at least 10kms, I have never asked 10kms in a day. I had to take some ibuprofen last night because my knees, feet and ankles were so sore and I'm really sore this morning but so happy that I was able to move my body that far even if it was over the course of a number of hours. I'm looking forward to heading home in a couple of days and hoping I can maintain this walking and healthy eating. I don't feel like I have missed out on eating anything while I've been here, I've tried everything I wanted to, I've eaten carbs every evening, I've had alcohol most evenings and I am leaving lighter and brighter than When I arrived. Everything in moderation right, I'm sure as I lose weight I'll need to alter what I'm doing, but basically if I can avoid bingeing and snacking through the evenings I should be ok for now.

  3. Thanks ladies! I was flabbergasted when my friend told me we'd walked that far but my body was stiff and sore for a few days afterwards. Not sure I'll tackle 10kms for a while but definitely shows me I should be doing 5kms more regularly and generally including more walking in my day to day life.

  4. It's great sometimes to not know what you're doing to see what you can actually do. I probably would not willingly sign up for a 10km stroll but if it happened unbeknownst to me that would be different. Good for you! Good for you not binging to feel better about your skin infection. When you feel poorly really easy to turn to good ole food.
